Top 12 Last Minute Gifts

Here are a few things on my personal wish list. I think they'll work well for other people too.

1. The Powermate Plus: Who doesn't have an iPhone today? I'm sure everyone's (because mine ALWAYS does) battery dies during the day from scrolling through Instagram & Twitter wishing your life was as cool as everyone else's.
2. Leather iPhone Case: Now you need something sexy and classy to put your phone in.
3. Ray Ban Sunglasses: I WANT these!! They're a really great blend between a classic wayfarer and aviator.
4. Mock Turtleneck Sweater: Last year, I really wanted this sweater, but it sold out. They brought it back again. I'm not a huge fan of turtlenecks because I find them confining, but I like this one because it's a mock.
5. Dressing the Man: Everybody loves a good coffee table book, and this is one you can actually read.  For the men in your lives, this is a great gift. I bought it for my dad.
6. Lion Statuettes: I almost bought these in the mall the other day in the blue. They're really cool, and perfect for the person trying to stock empty bookshelves with funky shit.
7. DooDoo iPad Case: I love my iPad, and I wish I used it more. I'll make it a New Year's Revolution. This is THE best iPad case, though. It's really protective, and let's face it... bitch is sexy.
8. Ornament: Getting an ornament for people is a nice idea because they stick it right on the tree (or hang it from their menorah), and the next year they think of you when they take it out.
9. Tate's Cookbook: Kathleen King, the owner of Tate's, is an incredible baker. I've never used this cookbook, but I'm sure everything is frickin' delish.
10. iPod Shuffle: Dontchya just love this little sucker? And at $49, it's a steal!
11. Bacon of the Month Club: I saw this club on the Food Network the other day, and immediately went online and signed myself up for it. I can't wait for the first installment. You're allowed to have a few me-gifts each Christmas, right?
12. Concert Tickets: I love to go to concerts, but don't go to many. I've been trying to go to more and have bought tickets to two concerts next year already.

Merry Christmas!

Cheers,

Jack

Sass in a Glass

About these photos: Bowtie: Dad's, Shirt: J. Crew (here), Watch: Dad's, Ring: inherited from our Grandmother, Suspenders/Pants: Forever 21, Shoes: JC Penny

Here is my sister, Claire, for the second time. If you remember she had her first guest appearance here. She's literally a child when it comes to taking pictures, so consider yourselves lucky that you got this much from the sassiest girl (read: bitch) I know.

I read a quote the other day about friends, and since she's my actual best friend, I think it fits:

"Friends are like toilets, no matter how much crap you give them, they'll still be holding up your ass for more"

I mean how true is that? I hope you're taking notes, Claire.

Cheers,

Jack

PS her shoes were an incredible find from JC Penny at a mere $15!!

That Damn Time of Year Again

Hat: Thrifted, Glasses: H&M, Sweater: J. Crew (old), Shirt: H&M, Bowtie: borrowed from my Dad, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: Johnston & Murphy, Socks: J. Crew

It's that time of year again when everybody in the world lives at the mall, and you can't get within three miles of a mall without getting stuck in gridlock. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas.... like actually love it. It's just I can't deal with ridiculous people (read: Asians) and their incredibly poor driving. How is it that you rarely have to deal with them during the off season, but drop the temperature and start talking about a morbidly obese, old man wearing a ratchet, red suit with polar bear trim, they come out of the wood work like it's their job. I, for one, don't understand it.

I'm trying to come up with a top last minute holiday gift guide by tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Jack

Proof We're Dead in Winter

 The Lobster Shack
 The Clam Bar

The other day I was driving home from school, and I was thinking about all the new places I want to visit (you can see them on my board on Pinterest). I then started to ask myself what makes a "vacation spot" a vacation spot? Is it the rating the beaches get each year? Is it the amount of five star hotels there? How many celebrities go there? Or is it just the sheer number of people that go there each year?
I really don't know, so I can't give you my opinion even if you wanted it... and you probably did if you're reading my blog. Sorry to disappoint...

The east end of Long Island, though, is an infamous vacation spot during the summer. Its beaches, hotels, and restaurants are all very well known in the North East and much of the US. People flock during the summer, specifically New Yorkers. However, the hype and all of the people leave just as fast as the warm weather does. It's really quiet out here during the winter, if you can't tell from the pictures. I don't know if it's a curse, but  I have a personality that needs to be near a city, so it's especially hard for me during the winter here. I've been in Manhattan the last two weekends which has dulled my boredom and desire to live in New York... but just a little bit. Patience is a virtue, ladies and gentlemen, so I'll wait until after college. For now, I'll just have to blog on a cold, empty beach.

Cheers,

Jack

Polar Bear Plunge

 Hey Dad.

Happy Saturday! So happy the week is over. Is it just me, or was this week ridiculously long? Today was the annual Southampton Polar Bear Plunge at Coopers Beach and the turn out was really good. It benefits a different charity each year. I'm not entirely sure, but I think this year the proceeds are going to  help the family of Chef Keith Greene from Schmidts. Many of you may recognize the name from season two "Hell's Kitchen."He drowned in August leaving behind two young children.

On a brighter note, this insane girl you see in some of these pictures has been one of my best friends since nursery school. Her name is Sarah and she is literally hysterical. Thinking about how long we've been friends is actually insane... sorry to get sappy on you. A few weeks ago she got this adorable English Bulldog named Roxy, who I will steal at the sight of a good opportunity. The St. Bernard four month old puppy is not mine, but I want it. Have you ever sat around a three year old and listen to them talk and just watch them? They could honestly make you laugh all day long. It really is one of the most interesting things, and I highly recommend doing it if you have a three year old and a day to spend with  it  him/her. Well, it's the same thing with a puppy.

We went "off-roading" after the plunge and Ally's car desperately needs a wash now. As we were driving home, the fog began to roll in. The last picture is one of my favorites ever... I couldn't tell you why, but doesn't it just give you some inspiration?

Cheers,

Jack

PS don't worry that man thing in seventh picture is not my dad

It's Christmas Time...

Trendsetter
 Yeah, we cute

Wow... I can't believe it either. December is already here, which means Christmas sales and shopping for other people, which I will admit is my absolute favorite thing. My reasoning behind it is because for people whose style doesn't always align with mine, I can give them that awesome piece for their closet that dresses them the way I think they should dress. I know it's selfish, but what're you gonna do?

This past weekend I reunited with some of my favorite cousins, whom you met in my second post, in Connecticut to pick out our Christmas trees. To continue the tradition, we went to this enormous tree farm/vineyard in Shelton, CT. They have THE best hot apple cider, and it is a great place for families with younger kids and dogs.

We went back to their house for dinner, and we got really lucky with the weather. It was just warm enough to sit outside in front of a fire with a blanket and take awful duck selfies. I'm heading into Manhattan tomorrow for a Christmas party, and if I have extra time I'll try to get some outfit shots in for a post about dressing formally. Cross your fingers!

Cheers,

Jack
