Half Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE HAMPTONITE!

Today marks the six month/half birthday for mah baby. It has been a blast bloggin' and posting for everyone who reads it. Best part is... my life is finally beginning to wind down so I can post for y'all and make the blog supa fun and funky.

Happy Easter to everyone, as well. I will try to force my sister to take pictures of me later so you can see my "tan" (aka red as hell skin). Cross your fingers that she will. Since, I don't have outfit pictures for you, I thought I would leave you with two pictures of last night's sunset on Sanibel Island. My family and I have been going here every year of my life for as long as I can remember. It's home to literally THE most beautiful sunsets, and that's saying alot coming from a Hamptons local.

Deuces,

Jack

SOHO Adventures

My all time favorite New Yorker

I am wearing: Hat American Eagle, Sweater Gap ($15.99!), Shirt Brooks Brothers Black Fleece, Bowtie H&M, Denim Gap, Sneakers Converse, Sunglasses Ray Bans, Backpack Herschel

I went to the city yesterday with my cousins, who snatched up faux Chanels like hot cakes (my favorite saying of all time). Canal Street is great for genuine counterfeit things (pun intended), if anyone is in need of some cheap shopping next time they're in New York. As promised, outfit photos were taken.

College acceptance letters have been coming in the mail recently, and *drumroll* I have decided. I will be attending ___________ in New York next year. I can't tell you because you might come and kill me.... #preach. But actually. I trust most of you; it's the rapists I'm scared of.

Deuces,

Jack

PS wish me luck in the snow... until I scurry off to Florida.

Belgian Waffles... from Belgium

"Please Sir can I have some more?"

There's something to be said for a waffle thats been "ironed" and not simply defrosted and stuck in the toaster. It's so fluffy, light, and delicious... like a pillow pet. I tried my very hardest to make these healthy waffles. I really wanted to make 'em whole wheat, but I couldn't bring myself to ruin a perfectly good batch of waffles. So, I looked for fruit in my fridge only to find a kiwi and celery, neither of which is complementary. So I bailed on the healthy idea, and I made them all natural. Which to me means, bisquick, water, vegetable oil, powdered sugar, and Vermont maple syrup from The Vermont Country Store. Needless to say, they were incredible!

I'm headed into the city tomorrow to meet my cousins for Spring shopping and dinner on the upper west side. I bought a few goodies yesterday, which were all on supa sale. I am headed toward the sun and warm weather on Wednesday. I go to Florida each year, so it isn't anything special, but it's definitely well-deserved and much-needed. Spring break 2013!

Bonsoir,

Jack

Singin' in the Rain

I am wearing: Umbrella Ebay, Jacket H&M (old), Cardigan H&M (old), Bowtie H&M, Shirt J. Crew (here), Jeans Levis (here), Shoes Johnston & Murphy (here)

10 days after my post about resolutions, in which I vowed to post more often, I am posting for the first time since then. Well, I don't know what to say.... I promise again to try mah very hardest, yo.

As I push through the wonderful month of March, I begin to mix warmer weather clothes into my wardrobe. I wore shorts outside yesterday! I was only checking the mail, but I think it still counts. I've pushed my coats to the back of my closet and brought out jackets and vests for the beginning of Spring, how exciting. In doing so, however, I have realized that Papa Bear's closet is in desperate need of a good ol' spring cleaning. The list of chores is piling on up.

Sometime during the transition from renaissance corsets to flapper dresses to bell bottoms, fashion "icons" have created a notorious reputation for the color white. We are told that white is a color specifically reserved for blistering heat waves from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and absolutely no time in between. Well, I'm here to tell you that times are a'changin' (if that's how you spell that). Be your own icon! I mean it really can't be that difficult, right? After all, Anna Wintour has only been the editor of American Vogue since 1988, and she's half way there. White is completely and totally acceptable during the spring and sometimes the winter if you're going for a monochromatic look. I mean I'm not really saying throw on a hot pink button down and electric blue oxfords and strut your stuff down Fifth Avenue in a blizzard. But a gray jacket and brown oxfords, hell yeah! Go for gold! or should I say white?

Peace out,
Jack
PS if you can get your hands on a clear, dome umbrella throw that thing in the cart and slide that plastic
